Greeting's everyone,
While we're still in the midst of learning new details and hearing about everything that's planned to come with the "Omega Patch". One thing that has been on my mind as of late, is that when it comes to an update of this scope & size. One that essentially is going to bring about some very big changes for the PC platform and a majority of it's various different in-game system's as a whole.
Is that we were lacking a single centralized Thread/blog post that lists all of these specific details of all the planned upcoming changes (big & small) that are set to be made.
So in an effort to hopefully provide some clarity on the future of things to come & to not only help out the Community of players but also the devs. I've tried to put together a short summary of included changes & also a detailed consolidated list of all the various "dev confirmed" changes.
Taken from the multitude of tidbit's which were floating around the PC forums that talk about these upcoming changes which are set to launch specifically with the "Omega Patch" sometime in the foreseeable future.
With either a snippet of the Exact wording provided by various Dev quotes or a link to where it can be found in a spoiler below each description, so as to try and avoid as much confusion or bloating as possible.
As more & more details about the scheduled changes come to light, I will try my best to keep this post updated up until the time that the "Omega Patch" launches on live servers for us here on PC!
Should i happen to miss any particular dev comments & links pertaining specifically to this upcoming "Omega Patch" or if any detail's get retracted/changed then please DO feel free to post the official quotes/comments/links here in this thread and i will update/add them to the list.
[Edit] Newest Addition's will be left in Red font for a couple days to help in finding.
A brief Summary of what's to be included.
Well, for starters it appears that quite a few things (an understatement rofl) are slated to be included actually. Things like...
- A 6-month PC exclusive release for a new character (Spider-Woman). Source
@AgentVapor said:
We do have a piece of good news: the Omega patch is officially confirmed to include Spider-Woman as a 6-month PC exclusive.
- A possibility of a second additional new character (Odinson), although the releases might get staggered by a week or two depending on the exact release date of the Omega Patch. Source
@Orren said:
Odinson is still coming and come out with this patch.
@Orren said:
We might stagger them by a week or two depending on the exact release date of the patch, but the short answer is yes.
- The Omega Trial, which will unlock a new addition to the Difficulty Slider for the character's that complete it to play on (Omega 1 difficulty). Source1 , Source2
- A New Rarity of Gear - Omega Item's (slots 1-5), Source1 Source2
- Omega item Set Bonuses - A brand new type of affix, Set Bonuses come attached to Omega Item Armor slots 1-5. Starting with 30 different set's of 5 available to appear at launch. Source

@Orren said:
Yeah - Apocalypse terminal will be in the PC Omega Patch
- The Costume Closet - Costumes for your hero's will no longer be items that you can equip & instead will be select-able via the "Costume Closet" (Currently Y by default). Source
- Various PC system's are to become Unified with Console's Systems (Things like an Item rework, Stat rework, CC rework, Crafting rework, Prestige streamlined). Source
Specific details on upcoming System's Changes
The Keywords System (A.k.a Tags)
- Tags on powers/items are going to be completely revamped, as in no more simply using things like "Mental/Physical/Energy damage types, those are set to be scrapped. Instead for example, powers will be changed to things like = Hand to Hand, Staff, Sword, Bleeding, Lightning, Force, Fire, Claw & many more.
- Current Legendary Items (i70 & i80) will be updated to support the reworked keyword system. With plans to bring forth a new host of i80 Legendaries over time. Source
@Winterthur said:
Alright two things guys. One of these is based directly on feedback from yesterday.
1 - Vulture Legendary will take the properties of the Console Counterpart. I had brought this over as a Movement Legendary since it was a highly requested item and you guys didn't have access to Herme's Sandals. Vulture's Legendary will go from Movement to Gadget for many of you.
B - ilvl80 Legendaries will be updated to support the keyword system as well as bringing forth a new host of ilvl80 Legendaries over time, like ilvl80 Herme's Sandals.
- Insignia's will be converted to the new keyword system & will keep their quality of rolls. Source
@Winterthur said:
Yes they will be converted, and they will keep their quality of rolls.
- The Relic system has been reworked - Relic's will now be able to stack up to 100 (down from 1000), which after collecting 100 relics you can then choose to keep using or trade them in for a shot at a "Complete Relic". Source
@Winterthur said:
Relics stack to 100 now (down from 100) and are a little bit different than what you're currently used to. After you collect
100 relics, you can continue to use these, or trade them in for a shot at a Complete Relic.
- Relic's you already own will be converted to a currency (Time Lost Relics), that can be used under the new system to purchase either a "Complete Relic" or "Random Relic Boxes" of your choosing. Source

Relics, or Random Relic Boxes of your choice.
The Crafting System
@Winterthur said:
Previously you could upgrade your gear from ilvl63, to ilvl66, and then to ilvl69. This is also no longer a thing. Due to how the entire loot paradigm has shifted these recipes have been retired. With that said, as we expand difficulties into Omega 1 and beyond the item level of gear may rise, or even introduce new avenues to grow in power.
- Slots 1-5 can no longer be enhanced with +1 to a specific attribute (challenge bonuses) at this time. Source
@Winterthur said:
Due to this change, your slots 1-5 can no longer be enhanced with +1 to a specific attribute at this time. This is not something we're against, but was not intended to work with the new system.
- Runewords will be retired & replaced by "Modifications" which go onto Armor Slot 3, which can be applied using various crafting materials & "Modification Kits". This also applies to Enchants for slots 1, 2, 4, and 5, those have been replaced with "Enhancements". Source
@Orren said:
With this patch Runewords will be retired and replaced by Modifications. Modifications go onto your Utility Armor Slot. (Slot 3) This also applies to enchants for slots 1, 2, 4, and 5. These have been replaced with Enhancements. You can hold onto your current runes if you’re sentimental like me, or you can sell these for credits.
- New Crafting recipe to be added, which allows you to consume (destroy) any Omega Item & transfer it's "Set Bonus" to a different Omega Item, replacing that item's previous Set bonus. Source
@MichaelMayhem said:
Rather than hard-dictating which heroes can and cannot use specific Omega Items, we're installing a new Crafting recipe that will allow you to consume any Omega Item and transplant it's set onto another Omega Item, overwriting that Omega Item's existing set.
- Unbinding with Unstable Molecule's will stay on PC, and several item slots, including slots 1-5 will no longer be bound. Additionally the Legendary unbind recipe, for the time being (temp?) will stick around. Source
@Winterthur said:
On PC you will still be able to unbind gear using Unstable Molecules. Additionally, you’ll notice several item slots, including Slots 1-5 are no longer bound. For the time being the Legendary unbind recipe will be sticking around.
Upcoming Item changes
- Uru-Forged items are to be retired & you will not be able to equip them any further as it will no longer be an item slot. Source1 , Source2
@Winterthur said:
Runes won't be removed, but Uru-Forged isn't an item slot anymore. Instead Modifications can be applied to Slot 3 Armor using Crafting Materials and Modifcation Kits.
@Winterthur said:
You will not be able to equip the Uru-Forged Items any further.
- Runes are to be retired, runes you've collected won't be removed but they will no longer drop or be used to enchant items. Source1 , Source2
@Winterthur said:
No, runes will not drop any further.

- Uniques are to be retired & will no longer be dropping, also they will not be getting touched (updated) for the new tag system. Source
- A Gift Box will be put together for the Omega Patch, that contains some of the most highly sought-after Uniques players have chased throughout the years to help complete collection's. Source
@Winterthur said:
A few of you guys have voiced concerns about Uniques going away. Players have put a lot of time into farming for their gear, and we know it doesn’t feel great when something that was once extremely rare and hard to acquire turns into something you have to leave behind. We also know that some players never found that one Unique item they were chasing and are worried they will never be able to complete their collection after the patch hits. To help alleviate this we've put together a gift box for the Omega patch with some of the most highly sought-after Uniques that players have chased after throughout the years.
Other Misc details
- Achievements that currently use uniques are planned to be converted into feats, handled in the same way as all other X-traordinary feats. Source
@OperationXIV said:
The current plan is to convert them into feats, handled the same way as all other X-traordinary Feats.
- Achievements for End of the world Trenchcoat Gambit, Thanos Imperative Starlord, Mr. Fixit Hulk & Prisoner Loki costumes aren't changing & will still be rewarded upon completion. Source
@OperationXIV said:
The achievements aren’t changing, so you’ll still have the reward for completing them. If you are still working on the achievement, you can continue to work towards unlocking its costume reward.
- Team-Up's will remain intact on PC. Source
@Orren said:
The systems that exist on PC but not on console (Teamups, for example) will remain intact on PC - that alone takes a lot of work.
Prestige Color's will stay. Source
PC's Stash and Other UI elements will remain the same, the exception to this rule is that Costume Closet functionality. Source
@Orren said:
PC UI will stay the same. The notable exception to this rule is that Costume Closet functionality is coming to the PC with this update.

- Higher Drop rates on things like Omegas, artifacts and Cosmic artifacts Source1 , Source2
@Winterthur said:
Additionally, when this patch arrives you may notice drop rates are a bit higher than what you're used to right now. Over the last year we've been tinkering with these and trying to get them to hit that sweet "feels good" spot. On top of that, each Omega Difficulty will increase the drop percentages even further, rewarding you more as you rise up asking to be challenged more

As I'm not affiliated with Gazillion Entertainment in any way shape or form, nor do I speak for them, this was just my own personal attempt as a player to help bring together as much of the available information as possible about this Upcoming "Omega Patch".
