So I decided to jump on my IM after not playing him for a good 6 months. When I came back a couple weeks ago I kept reading how he was in a bad place and not very good. This morning I decided to finally jump back on him having leveled up all the CW characters in my roster. Having very low expectations I was very surprised at how well IM stood up. Is he top tier? Is he great? No, not even close. I can tell that he is more mid tier as far as damage goes, but he isn't THAT bad.
That said, not giving him a QoL in the build up to CW really was a huge mistake by Gaz IMO. IM is one of the Iconic MH characters right now. The movie likely drew in some new users who want to play IM only to realize he isn't top 10 and might not even be top 20 (I do think he's in the middle of the group though).
Basically, while not being top tier, he's still pretty effective and fun to play.
