Boptimus Prime’s Leveling Guide Pre-2016-character revamp.

Hey all, I’m back with a guide that will guaranteed help many people. There’s a lot of confusion as to the fastest way to level in the current (10/25/2016) Marvel Heroes. Whether it be via the story or just legendary quests to playing through Holo-Sim and X-Defense. This guide is going to show the fastest way I’ve found to level.

To preface you (the player reading) should have a number of things. This is NOT a new player leveling guide, though it can/will help new players as well!

Stuff to have before embarking on this journey:

Items:

A Daily Shared Quest Reward Box:

image

A Daily Bonus Quest Loot Box:

image

An Experience Orb Pack:

image

Optional items:

Experience Rush Energy Bar:

image

Avengers Assemble Boost:

image

Godkiller:

image

Characters to Own:

Cyclops:

image

Cyclops Hero Synergy Bonus:

image

Set Loot Vacuum to this:

image

Why these specifics to start?

Character:

Cyclops has attached to him his synergy which gives another 10% Bonus XP at level 50. If given the option as a new player choosing Cyclops as your first character will always be my suggestion. Leveling to 60 will give you 40% Bonus Experience by himself on the characters that come after. This specific bonus Experience percentage comes from the account Hero Synergy Bonus Experience and Cyclops own Hero Synergy Bonus.

Item:

Shared Quest Reward Box and Daily Bonus Quest Loot Box: Used to get a boost at the start of the leveling process by granting the player up to a full set of gear giving the advantage of not only having epic gear (which comes with 5-8 stats on each item) but not needing to farm for gear throughout the leveling process. Bonus points in this category are gained because by having a level 1 set of gear granted by opening these at the start of this process if a player decides to prestige a character and they didn’t sell what they have opened they have a set of gear already available!

Experience Orb Pack: Used to bypass the normal scaling of the story Experience. Opening an Orb pack at 300+ percent Experience Bonus will grant the player level 7-9. This is good as it lets the player start with abilities that would otherwise take a long time to unlock. Not only that it means that the Experience scaling in the story is that much higher than normal giving an accelerated time line with which to follow.

Optional Items:

Godkiller: Used to help accelerate the experience. If you (the player) are looking to prestige a character and already own a Godkiller, slap it on that character and level it during the story. It grants a bunch of generically good stats alongside having the 20% experience built right into the item! That’s a lot of bonus experience whether or not you’re a new player or a regular player looking to prestige.

Experience Energy Rush Bar and Avengers Assemble Boost: Both of these items are completely optional as they both cost money. These alongside the other experience potions and bars are great for leveling! They all cost actual money though which is unfortunate. Most players will accumulate them over time and when it comes time to level a new character popping one each will accelerate the rate at which the story line is completely by multiple folds.

I want to level, what’s the fastest way?

If you’re reading this guide I assume that’s your natural question. I’ve prepped you thus far on the account side and character side, now it’s time for the meat and potatoes of this guide. Below I’ll detail which quests to complete and why they’re better than others!

Prologue and chapter 1:
Complete these entire chapters in order. They were developed with players new to the game in mind and thus each quest leads into the next one very nicely. Gazillion developers if you’re reading this nice job! I look forward to what’s in the future if this is any indication of the level of commitment to making the story more concise.

Chapter 2:
After talking to Ben Urich at the end of chapter one the first thing you’ll do is go into the Jersey Dock Way Point and talk to the shield agent with the Exclamation Point above his head. He gives you the quest Experiment Q-36:

image

After finding and completing that quest port back into Avengers Tower and take the waypoint to The Hood which is named Cargo Freighter. Once on the freighter you’ll unlock the Pursuing the Hood quest which is the end of act quest. This pushes the story forward and if you’re completing the quest for the first time on the character you’re playing you’ll get 3 power points from it as well. The quest looks like this in the mission log:
image

After you complete Pursuing the Hood and talking to Maria Hill you’ll be directed to move onto chapter 3.

Chapter 3:

The first quest you’re given for chapter 3 is The Eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D which looks like this:
image

Before actually completing that quest the first thing you’ll do is collect The Muramasa Blade which is given to you by Yukio. The quest looks like this:
image

After collecting the pieces of the blade return to her and collect your reward. Once done with that move into the Safehouse Way Point inside the barber shop. Once there speak with the Shield agent and complete the quest. Once that’s finished that same shield agent will grant a new quest named The Tablet Chase which looks like:
image

The quest will tell you to find Sharon Carter in Lowtown but instead of going to do that open the way point pad and go directly into Hand Tower. Make your way through the tower up to the top floor and defeat all the Elite Ninja with Elektra and collect your prize! After collecting your prize and going into the teleporter on the roof you’ll be back in Avengers Tower. A cutscene will play which we’ll skip and the quest will end with you talking to Ben Urich which opens chapter 4.

Chapter 4:

After speaking with Ben Urich at the end of Chapter 3 he will unlock the first of two quests you’ll complete in Chapter 4. The first of these is Corruption in Blue:
image

To complete this quest use the teleporter in Avengers Tower to go into the Upper East Side waypoint of Chapter 4. From there speak to Ben again and you’ll go into the waypoint with the question mark just above him in the police building. Fight Bullseye and defeat him to get the quest reward (3 Matrix of Unbinding) by talking to the NPC on the roof and unlock the quest The Kingpin Falls:
image

After unlocking The Kingpin Falls, teleport back into Avengers Tower and take the teleporter to Chapter 4’s Fisk Tower. Make your way through the tower and defeat the Kingpin, after defeating Kingpin unlock the case that has the Tablet of Life and Time in it to move the quest to the next stage. Once done with that speak to Maria Hill once again to finally complete The Kingpin Falls and reap your just reward (3 power points and a ton of experience). Once done speak to her again to unlock Chapter 5.

Chapter 5:

After speaking with Xavier for the first time you’ll unlock the first of the only two quests in this chapter. That quest is Purification Crusade. This one will be left for last as it gives a pittance of Experience compared to the mid act quest The Meanest Streets:
image

Take the teleporter in the Xavier’s mansion to Purifier Advance Base in the Chapter 5 section of the menu. From there go as northwards as you can until you found a blue portal. This portal will lead you into fighting Lady Deathstrike. Once defeating her go and taking the portal out take the portal back into the Purifier Advance Base and use the teleporter to go to the Old Trainyard. That’s the zone to complete the Purification Crusade quest:
image

Once again go as northward possible until hitting a blue portal. Once inside defeat The Juggernaut and take the orange portal back to Xavier’s Mansion and speak to Xavier again. He’ll give you the first quest of Chapter 6.

Chapter 6:

Chapter 6 once again has two quests to complete and both are relatively short. The first of which is Dangerous Tech. After speaking with Xavier again talk to Havoc and go to the Hidden Cabin in chapter 6. This will unlock Dangerous Tech:
image

To complete this quest, go east and hug either the north or south wall. Once it turns if it loops around and you see a blinking portal on the map you’ll know you went the right way. If turning just expands the map a lot go back and take the other direction. Once you find the blue portal take it and navigate the maze. After finding the end of the quest all you’ll need to do is blow up a separated sentinel head and defeat some moloids. After doing that teleport back to Xavier’s Mansion and take the Command Bunker waypoint. That will unlock the other quest:
image

To complete Stryker Under Siege navigate the base and defeat both Pyro and Magneto. Neither boss is very difficult and it shouldn’t take very long. After completing the quest take the orange portal back to Xavier’s mansion and speak to Xavier again. He’ll give you the next quest which starts chapter 7.

Chapter 7:

Within chapter 7 there are two mandatory and one optional quest. The first of the two mandatory quests is Little Lost Jungle Lord:
image

To complete Little Lost Jungle Lord Take the Dinosaur Jungle waypoint in chapter 7. Once there skip the cutscene and open the map by hitting whatever hot key you set. You’ll see a pulsing portal and you’ll head that way. Once finding it go until hitting a wall and move up or down it. If you hit another wall and can’t move beyond it turn around and try the other direction. Once finding an open path take it until you end up at a bridge. Cross the bridge and Sauron spawns. Defeat Sauron and talk to the NPC. That completes the quest. Go back to Xavier’s mansion and take the waypoint to the Infested Jungle.

The next quest (which is optional if you’ve played the character through the story once already) is Infestation Most Vile:
image

To complete Infestation Most Vile there are three steps:
1. Defeat 3 Brood Hybrids.
2. Generate a Cure.
3. Deploy the Cure.

The first stage is easy, all you need to do is defeat the Brood that look semi-human. They drop a blue item that you can pick up. Defeat 3 and collect the item they drop. From there an orange marker is open on your map. Move towards that and click the highlighted station. After completing that another orange marker opens. Move to that and click again. Once completing that the quest will be finished and you’ll be granted both Experience and 3 power points. Once finished head to the orange portal and go back into the overworld and step onto the blue portal and take the waypoint to the Sinister Lab to complete the last mandatory quest which is A Sinister Plan:
image

There are multiple steps to this quest but after moving into Sinister’s lab just head south until you hit the orange marker. Skip that and keep going south until you either hit a blue portal or a wall. If you hit a will go eastwards until being able to go south again. Once you hit that portal go inside and defeat Sinister and his vile clones. Once defeating him go get Bishop out of his test tube and take the portal back to Xavier’s Mansion. Once back in the mansion speak to Xavier one last time to complete A Sinister plan and to unlock the first chapter 8 quest.

Chapter 8:

There are a whole mess of quests to complete in this chapter and they all take a while, the first two are at least on the same map. They are Defeat the Intelligencia and Starktech on the Loose. Take the Waypoint to the A.I.M Weapon Facility. You’ll complete both of these at the same time:
image
image

These quests are entire twined and by completing one along the way you’ll complete the other. Defeating the Intelligencia involves defeating Doctor Octopus, Wizard, and M.O.D.O.K. who will all have orange markers. Starktech on the Loose involves destroying little prototypes which also have orange markers on the map. Complete both quests by clearing the orange markers. Once you’ve cleared M.O.D.O.K. you’ll have to upload a virus into a computer in his room. Do this by clicking the only orange marker left and then by going back to the Shield helicarrier. Once on the helicarrier speak to Fury to advance the story into the next quest which is:
image

Take the teleporter to Hydra Island and talk to the NPC who gives you Hulkbuster Armory:
image

Again both of these quests are enter twined on the same map. Hulkbuster Armory will be the first quest you complete as it takes place on the first portion of the map. Move forward until hitting a T section of the map and go south, move along forward until you see Madam Hydra and 3 powered down Hulkbuster knock off suits. Defeat her and destroy the suits to complete the quest. Once done take the blue portal and continue your journey towards The Mandarin. Once finding yet again another blue portal take it and make your way up the stairs. Defeat The Mandarin and skip the cutscene. Go back to the Helicarrier and speak with Nick Fury again to unlock A Doomed World:
image

Take the Teleporter to the Castle Doom waypoint and following the map until you reach a blue portal. There are a few objectives to complete and an optional quest but skipping them has no detrimental effects for what you’re doing. Once you reach the blue portal take it and take the second portal. Defeat the 3 stages of Doctor Doom and complete the original story. After that take the orange portal and take A Victory Lap. After that both Maria Hill and Nick Fury will have more quests that move into chapter 9.

Chapter 9

There are 4 quests to complete in this chapter, the first of which is A Frosty Reception:
image

This is an extremely easy quest as all you need to do is take the chapter 9 waypoint named Ancient Ruin site and approach the ruins. A cutscene plays and unlocks The Path to Asgard.

After taking the waypoint to Asgard talk to Heimdall and receive the experience and power points. He’ll give you the quest Battle for Asgard:
image

Complete the quest by defeating the orange markered Dark Elves and Kurse. After which you’ll have Sif give you the end of the quest and open a portal to Asgard itself. From there the quest City Under Siege is unlocked:
image

To complete this the event that spawns Malekith needs to be completed. Defeat his captain spawns (Surmac, Torog, and Bolger). Once they are defeated Malekith will spawn. Defeat him and an orange portal will open. Take the portal and navigate the canals by going southwards and then turning east. Follow the canal until finding a blue door. Defeat Malekith again to unlock an orange portal and complete his quest.

After completing his quest go back into Asgard proper and talk to the NPC with an exclamation point above their head. He’ll give you Throne of Deceit which is the final quest of this guide:
image

Take the blue portal in your immediate area to approach the final boss. Take the next blue portal and defeat Loki twice to advance the quest. After defeating Loki for the second time a cutscene will play explaining the Surtur is on the move alluding to the Musphelheim raid! After that talk to the NPC again to complete the final quest!

So there you have it. The quest chain I use to level with. It takes me just under 36 minutes flat with 600% Experience Bonus. Don’t believe me? Here’s video proof:

image

If you’ve made it this far I really appreciate it. There’s a lot of information to parse and I hope I wrote a concise enough guide.

As always any questions asked will be answered to the best of my ability!
