[New Hero Suggestion] - Mandarin

Ten rings, a thousand ways to die. This is it. For me in Mandarin the most interesting element are his rings and his powers. He himself is a crazy person full of monologues, mad schemes and honour that make him loose. As someone have stated: In fight agaist Iron Man Mandarin in the character wins 4-5 times out of 10 while using his brain and powers to the fullest he would win closer to 10 out of 10. So as a master of martial arts and Chi manipulations, equpided with power rings of alien civilisation that his genius allowed him to learn and control, he is a cool character. Because of his diversity and with the new tallent tree he could become a very interesting and diverse hero which I tried to convey bellow. So prepare your rings to claim what's yours!

Mandarin

Introduction

The Mandarin is the descendant of Genghis Khan. Due to his unstable mind, it's hard to pin down his true backstory; in the original story, he was the child of two aristocrats but became homeless after spending his fortune on education and martial arts training before stumbling upon the ship of the Axonn-Karr (Fin Fang Foom's race) and discovering the rings. Quickly building up power and becoming unstoppable by traditional militaries, Iron Man was sent to face him, and for the first time The Mandarin met an equal in intellect and strength; the two would become rivals ever since.

Powers and Skills

Super-Genius Intelligence: The Mandarin is one of the world's greatest scientific geniuses. Not only has he made himself into an authority on Makluan science, but he has also built upon this knowledge by making further discoveries based upon it. He is also a historian and is extremely knowledgeable on ancient history, specifically that of Asia and China. The Mandarin is fluent in various languages most notably English and his native Mandarin Chinese.

Without increasing his strength with chi, The Mandarin possesses the peak human level of strength a man of his age, height, and build that exercises intensively. He is a superb athlete with tremendous skill in the various martial arts.

Chi manipulation: The Mandarin possesses superhuman physical prowess. The Mandarin can survive for years without food and water by living on stored Chi. By augmenting himself with Chi Mandarin can become physical power house. He was able to match older Iron Man armors blow for blow. With his kick he easly broke metal beam and then with his hand he cleaved through metal doors spliting them in half

Mandarin is most famouse because of his rings. Origins of the Mandarin rings have changed several times. Originally they served as the controls for an advanced alien ship. Then they were vessels for ancient cosmic spirits. In their most recent incarnations, they were sentient and actively sought out users, as well as capable of communicating with one another. It’s never really known if they’re tech or magic for sure [When Malekith calls the ring and says it's magic ring try to say that it's technology. In Response Malekith say: "Insuficiently advenced magic is indistiguishable from technology.]

I preffer the idea of them being technology that Mandarin discovered and learned to controll because of his genius and that is how I will adress them.

Right Hand.

  • Matter-Rearanger aka Remaker (worn in the right thumb): This Ring allows the Mandarin to manipulate the atomic and molecular structures of matter. It shaters and reimagines relations on subatiomic level. It cannot transmute elements or affect objects encased in force or energy fields. Poison Gas – The Mandarin may transform the surrounding air into a Toxic gas. Solidify Gas – The Mandarin may solidify the air around opponents, encasing them in blocks of cement-like material. Rearrange costume and/or alter appearance. It can animate inanimate objects like giving life to terracot army or making a monster out of whole mountain. This versitile ring can be used in many ways.
  • Impact Beam Ring aka Influence (worn in the right index finger): This Ring allows the Mandarin to generate and project various beams of concussive force.
    Force Blast (Electron Beam, Neutron Beam) – The Mandarin may project blasts of concussive energy. Sonic Beam – The Mandarin may project waves of high-intensity sound.

  • Vortex Beam Ring, aka Spin (worn in the right middle finger): The ring causes the air to move about at high speed in a vortex. The vortex can be used as an offensive weapon as a means of levitating objects, or as a means of propelling the ring's wearer through the air. Later it also was able to declerates time around the wearer. It makes him appear as having super speed to the watcher and this speed can be utilised for superhuman attacks or time to think.

  • Disintegration Beam Ring, aka Spectral (worn in the right ring finger): This ring allows the Mandarin to project a beam of energy capable of destroying the bonds between the atoms and molecules, causing inanimate objects [whatever it strikes] to disintegrate. This ring must recharge for 20 minutes after each use.
  • Black Light Ring, aka Nightbringer (worn in the right little finger): This Ring allows the Mandarin to create an area of darkness, presumably using Darkforce energy to do so. Creates a mellable darkness aka "Dark light" that can attack enemies or be used for different attacks.

Left Hand

  • White Light Ring, aka Daimonic (worn in the left thumb): This ring allows the Mandarin to generate and manipulate various forms of electromagnetic energy.
    Light Burst – The Mandarin may generate bursts of high intensity light to blind opponents.
    Gravity Field – The Mandarin may encase opponents in a field of heavy gravity, pinning them to the surfaces.
    Magnetic Levitation – The Mandarin may utilize electromagnetic fields to levitate and manipulate objects.
    Image Projection – The Mandarin may project holographic illusions. He can also produce multiple images to confuse an opponent, or make a substantially larger version of himself.
    Can create loyalty and obsesion.
    Shoots Laser

  • Flame-Blast Ring, aka Incandescence (worn in the left index finger): This ring allows the Mandarin to project blasts of infrared to produce flame or ignite combustible materials and enemies. It "creates world upon world of illusory favle, as impossible to escape as a tangle of dreams but vexes wearer as well"

  • Mento-Intensifier Ring, aka The Liar (worn in the left ring finger): This ring magnifies the Mandarin’s psionic energies, allowing him to mentally manipulate the thoughts and actions of others.
    Mental Illusions – The Mandarin may psionically generate illusions within the minds of others. These illusions are very realistic and are capable of affecting all of the senses (vision, hearing, taste, touch and smell).
    Mental Paralysis – The Mandarin may psionically manipulate the minds of others, temporarily paralyzing them.
    Increases the Mandarin's mental abilities to the point that he can control people, to the limit of one person.

  • Electro-Blast Ring, aka Lightning (worn in the left middle finger): This ring allows the Mandarin to project blasts of Electrical Energy.

  • Ice Blast Ring, aka Zero (worn in the left little finger): This ring allows the Mandarin to project waves of up intense cold and ice, including trapping foes in ice blocks and sheaths. Can produce cold rays. Opens a beam of nothingness from the icy heart of outer space. Creates deafening boom as vacuum is filled.

Power Trees

  • Right Hand
    Rings: Remaker, Influence, Spin, Spectral, Nightbirnger. Animating and changing matter, beams of power, wind and time dialation, powerful disingegrating beam, bringing mellable and living darkness.

  • Left Hand
    Daimonic Incandesence, Liar, Lightning, Zero. Bursts of light, gravitation field, image projcection, Fire, ice and electric powers, Hypnosis and control.

With his diverse power set and big amount of options in his trees [combined with talents] Mandarin can be ranged beam and/or area fighter, melee warrior or melee/ranged hybrid, summoner or a mix of all of those.

A lot of powers that create area effect somewhere are tagged as "Area". They maybe should be tagged "Ranged, Area". For thrown or shot or otherwise flying from hero to the groud powers are tagged "Ranged" but if the effect just apears somewhere? I leave it like that.

Right Hand

Impact Beam Basic, Ranged lvl 1

  • Using Influence ring you shoot a concusive force blast that if there is need follows target [it moves fast but if enemy was dashing then it chases but max can do a 45 degree.].

Teleport Movement lvl 1

  • Knowing those rings as much as you do let you teleport with ease using any one of them.

Sonic Beam Ranged

  • High intensity sounds directed at enemies deal dmg and the changing frequency casues them to feel ill.
    Bow shaped projectiles that grow [Long, narrow cone]. Pierces each enemy takes less dmg. High attack speed [or area - will decide later]

Gas cloud Area

  • Using remaker you change air around your enemies into a poisonus gas.
    Target area is covered in grean gas cloud.

Wind Chariot Movement

  • Mandarin stans on a circle of wind that takes him where he wishes with huricane speed.
    Travel speed 1000

Dark Tendrills Summon

  • With Nightbringer you summon darkness that takes form and attacks your enemies.
    Target area changes into patch of darkness. On that patch there are 4 wigling and moving small tentacles. If someone come in range of them they will start attacking. Dmg X
    Each tentacle attacks 1/s
    If someone stands on that patch tentacles attacks him normaly.
    Only one instance of Dark Tendrills can be up at one time.

Thousand fists Melee, area

  • Spin can slow time around you making it look like you have gained amazing speed. Combining this with your mastery of martial arts and chi manipulation make you more than match for the mighties enemies.
    First activation give you big movement speed buff and shortens cooldowns by 2s.
    Second activation make you clear the area with quick jumps and punches [Iron fist/ Spider-man].
    Third activation is a single target attack made of dozens of punches.

Surface Punch Area

  • Remaker is one of the most versitile rings. Once it animated whole mountain, now just ground bellow enemies.
    Two big arms come out of the ground. Left arm and right arm positioned like they would be from a lying on it's back human. Rocky fists hits eachother and anyone who was in that area. Arms crumble after that hit.

Blow away Area

  • With single though wind with the power of hurican changes being surrounded to being victorious.
    From the the ground around your feet wind blows away in medium sized area blowing enemies away.

Dark sphere Area

  • Dark light gathers on the ground taking it energy from the Dark force. It spins quickly, rises from the ground and forms a spehere that pulls everyone in. Then the darknes explodes and the sphere like fluid bursts into thousand of Dark light particles damaging anyone in the area.
    Pull Dmg X 2/s from touching the sphere.
    Dmg X to anyone in the area.
    Dmg X 2/s for Xs to anyone hit.
    Cooldown

Spectral beam Ranged

  • Ghostly looking almost invisible ring that is used as a last resort. Mandarin projects a beam of energy capable of destroying the bonds between the atoms and molecules of antyhing, disintegrating whatever it hits. It's the only ring that have a down time to it.
    Single target cool looking purple beam.
    Destroys grays and blues instantly.
    Dmg X if kills animation of disintegration.
    Allways crits.
    Cooldown - big: 1m?

Left Hand

Zero field Ranged, area lvl 1

  • Cold ray disperesed on a area is cold enough to kill.
    Target area covers in ice and "steaming" cold.
    Dmg 2/s
    Chill
    Freeze - if enemy is longer than 2s.

Flamethrower Ranged, Aread

  • Simple but effective. Flames hot as the surface of the sun.
    Fronal cone. Medium width and lenght.
    Dmg X 2/s
    Burn X 2/s for 4s

Hand of the Mandarin melee

  • You don't need to relly on your martial arts. What you need is submision and loyalty. With hand full of chi capable of breaking metal bars, your ringed hand can break even the man wearing the best armor.
    Animation: With the back of your open right hand you hit your enemy in the face. After that you punch straight with your left then open in and hit with it's back to the face. Then you make a spin kicking enemy in the head with your heal [your head is almost the the ground].
    Slow Attack speed.
    Dmg X
    High crit chance High crit dmg.

In your head summon

  • "-My will is your will. -Your will is my will."
    Liar increases your mental abilities and you can turn enemy into servant against his will.
    You can have only one servant.
    Enemy have to be under 1/3 Hp to be affected.
    +Summon stuff: dmg, hp [I don't know much about summons].
    Cooldown 5s

Fire and Ice Ranged

  • Incandesence and Zero play a beautiful song together.
    From your hand you shoot once a fire beam, once a ice beam.
    Fast attack speed.
    Dmg X and chill from Ice
    Dmg X and burn form Fire

Gravity Well Area

  • Daimonic. Ring of many uses. Manipulating gravity is one of them.
    Target area starts pulling enemies into the middle slowly. It aplies slow to them and deal dmg from the crushing force. If they get to the middle they get additional dmg.
    Dmg X 2/s - whole area.
    Dmg X 2/s - additional dmg in the middle.
    Aplies slow
    Weaken
    Cooldown

Electric Whip Melee

  • Whip fools that had the audacity to attack you. If they survive there will be a lesson for them. Not knowing your place can be deadly.
    Whip becomes a long extension of your hand. You whip the target and whole lenght of the whip arcs to other enemies.
    Medium attack speed
    Dmg X
    Dmg X arcs - lower
    Chance to stun.

Light Burst Area

  • "And there is light". You don't even have to say this.
    Bright light explodes filling big area.
    Dmg X - not big
    Stun Vulnerable
    Small cooldown 1-3s

Burn Ranged

  • With a snap of the fingers enemies become memories. If they deserve to be memories.
    Snap your fingers and target enemy sets on fire.
    Dmg 2/s - high
    Cooldown

Ten rings, a thousand ways to die Signature, Ranged, Area
You calm your body, focus your chi, clear your genius mind. In this perfect harmony and optimal state you can use the full extent of yourself and your rings bringing deserved devastation to further your noble goals.
Duration: 10s. Cooldown 36s +/- [Based on BW and TM].
Around you in big radius effects of your rings occur for the duration of signature. You gain movement speed buff thanks to the ring time dialation. Your left click becomes fast attack power using all your beams that shoot interchangebly with greater power [Force, sound, fire, ice, laser, electric.].
Effects: All effects deal similar amount of dmg, ones with severe cc like petrify deal somewhat less. If dmg kills there can be VFX effect of death if stated. Not all effects have to acctivate every time.

  • Covered in ice. Dmg, Frozen.
  • Covered in ice and after a 1s shatters [if dmg enough to kill] Dmg. Frozen.
  • Encased in cemment. 2/s Petrify in block of cement.
  • Catches on fire. 2/s
  • Explodes inside the body [smal VDX] if enough to kill he explodes much bigger.
  • Desintegrates Dmg. If not enough then sparkling purple-blue VFX that is in the game. Vulnerable.
  • Changes into stone. Dmg Petrify
  • Changes into liquid. Dmg. If not enough to kill just liquid like VFX. Weaken
  • Psychic paralyze.
  • Mind control - single enemy get apropriete buff and fight on your side. Only one enemy can be controlled.
  • Burst of light that stuns.
  • Posion cloud 2/s and Weaken
  • Acid cloud. 2/s lasts 3s after leaving.
  • Electric field 2/s
  • Jumping electricity that burns to crisps if kills. Dmg
  • Whril wind 2/s slow
  • Wind lashes dmg X + Bleed
  • Flaming wind circle 2/s + burn
  • Wind sends enemy flying, drop dmg and vulnerable
  • Dark tentacles. Exist Xs deals X Dmg attacking.
  • Dark spot. Area of darknes that crawls on anyone who steps in it sucking their life away. 2/s, slow, weaken, vulnerable.
  • Gravity fields: slow and vulnerable.
  • Gravity fields: Dmg 2/s and knockdown with every hit [to increase the chance of lying in that].
  • Ball of damaging white lite [AoE]
  • Hand from the ground dmg, knock up

Ultimate

Amplified Rings Area
When Iron Man pured all his power through my rings to defeat a dragon, rigns brought explosion that turned into the storm of energy that was raging for sixteen hours. This energy is as old as the universe. It is a piece of the faric of creation torn from it's proper place in space and time. This cyclon of power decimated not only the dragon but everything around it making a canyon where it started. Energy was so vast it was felt around the globe. I being in the middle of it have disapeared. That was long ago. Because I'm the only mind that can fully comprehend those ring now I know how to amplify power of my rings in less brainless way than what Stark did.
With small device you amplify your rings. You disapear and there first comes explosion and after that raging storm of energy [giant wobling pillar] that slowly follows cursor.
