I've spent a few hours playing the AoS event and I felt like offering a bit of feedback...
PROS:
- The event items are really well designed and some look like they'll be extremely useful for a lot of characters when the power point revamp occurs.
- The target buffs drop at a good frequency (almost too frequently). So far I haven't encountered any "hard to find" targets, but that may just be good luck.
- Loads of OMEGA files for newbies who are anxious to acquire the Coulson team-up.
- Loads of OMEGA orbs from targets and leaderboard rewards for those people who aren't maxed out yet.
CONS:
- Why do target buffs only drop in Patrols? For the next ten days, anyone wanting to make the most of the event is effectively told not to play Story mode, XDEF, Holo-Sim, Terminals, One-Shots, Danger Room or any other content they'd prefer. We've had loads of events with target buffs in the past, none of which have restricted where they drop.
- There's an awful lot of RNG on getting event items to drop. My first 3-4 targets dropped nothing but OMEGA files, then I got three event items from the next few.
- OMEGA files are pretty much a wasted currency for anyone who's played through a few events already. The vendor doesn't offer much in the way of useful items. Even just adding armored core boxes would be a huge improvement and a currency sink.
Missed Opportunity:
- For vets with excess OMEGA files and those afflicted with poor RNG, put the event items on Dum Dum Dugan and sell them for OMEGA files.
