Been reading this lately. I'm only up to issue 2 so far, but it's pretty good.
But it kind of bugs me. The team was created to show the world humans and mutants can cooperate. When it started it had 3 Avengers, one of whom (Scarlet Witch) was (thought to be at the time) a mutant, and 3 X-Men, one of whom (Wolverine) was also an Avenger. That's a pretty good balance.
Now? It's got 8 members. Only two are mutants: Rogue and Cable. And they added Inhumans, by which I mean they added one Inhuman, Synapse, whose powers seem to be shouting "My power doesn't work on these enemies!" every time there's a fight.
I feel like there should be more mutants on the team (and more Inhumans, if they really want to go that route). Deadpool is just out of place, and it's hard to imagine Steve Rogers insisting on such an unreliable element in the team. Dr. Voodoo seems like an odd choice, too. I guess they need a magic-person, but I'd rather they use Magik, or at least Pixie.
That leaves us with Spider-Man (he's fine, I guess), Human Torch (feels REALLY out of place, what with having never been an Avenger, mutant or Inhuman) and Quicksilver, who might have been an awesome pick at one time but, since he's no longer a mutant, doesn't feel like he belongs anymore.
I feel like if they really want to include Inhumans, there should be more than one.
Still, it's a good book so far. I just wish the casting was better.
