INTRO:

The build is a nice and simple Sorcery and area based build with the other trees mainly being used every 8 seconds to proc Power Doop, Ectoplasm and Grenade.

I've have also provide alternative details should you wish to replace our main spirit spender (Orb) with the more single target oriented Pierce the Veil. Against single targets Veil provides faster targeting but for mobs and groups of bosses in CMM Orb excels (nothing beats seeing all those red numbers as Orb travels through all 6 bosses during Sinister 6 boss wave ha ha B-) ).

Like my Hawkeye guide, keeping things relatively simple whilst providing a solid, competitive build is my main target. This build also uses only one skill bar and TTK is a very respectable 30s. I've also been able to complete full Onslaught raid with this build without any difficulties.

STATS AND ITEMS BASE BUILD:

Stats are 40k effective health, 1150 magic, 11k mental damage, 18% attack speed, 60%% crit & 63%% brut chance (65% & 67% for area skills), 325% crit damage & 650% brut damage.

For the TLDR amongst us, I've provided a link to my build on the Marvel Heroes Items Base below:

1.1 POWER TREE:

  • Since the release of new content we now have 5 spare skill points now. Latverian War Drums and Latverian Air defence can be a good place to use these if you don't mind hotbar swapping.

  • Also add plus 1 to all the skills you see here as we have this as a proc on our slot 3 :)

1.2 SKILLS BREAKDOWN:

Max points:

Ingenious Defence: Defensive passive. Whilst the scaling isn't exactly the best we aren't point starved and this helps us make up for any TTL we lose from using Cerebro Omega node.

1 Point Wonders:

Doom Blast: Used purely to proc Power Doop.

Max Points:

Unthinkable: Nice aoe dot. You can drop up to 3 at a time which is great for ensuring bosses don't move out of the radius.

Orb of Doom: It's between this and Pierce the Veil for our main spirit spender. Veil will give you a slight faster TTK on single targets and Orb is great for decimating groups of mobs/bosses (think CMM boss waves). I've chosen to make Orb the focus of this build as Doom is a very area heavy hero (4/5 mental skills have an area tag) and this also affects his insanely OP ult. Saying all this, for some this has turned out quite a contentious choice so if you really don't like mechanics of Orb at all, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater and skip this guide :P, feel free to use Pierce and replace Grenade with a more appropriate artifact (further details on page 2).

Eldritch Reckoning: My favourite skill on Doom! Huge damage on initial hit (seen over 1.8m) along with a great dot, cower and spirit restore mechanic. I use this as my main trash clearing skill, hit them with it teleport on to next target and let the dot finish them off.

Mystical Master: Very nice damage sig (seen it hit for over 12m). Be wary of casting it when surrounded by mobs though as it has no invulnerability or mitigation during cast.

Channeled Torment: Another huge hitting skill (over 2m per tick when it bruts). Use this at the end of your boss rotation when you have boosts from Ectoplasm/Power Doop and you will destroy anything foolish enough to stand in your way! You may find that when channelling this your Eldritch and Unthinkable will wear off, despite this keep channelling as the huge damage makes up for the second or two of losing your dots.

1 Points Wonders:

Impending Doom: Our teleport. Great but like all other travel powers in the game no reason to put more than 1 point in it.

Max Points:

Worthless Cretin: Used to proc physical damage for Power Doop and Ectoplasm. Also has the added bonus of doing huge damage as it gets buffed from all the ranged damage bonuses we have. Seen this hit for over 3m.

The Will of Doom: Our offensive passive. Nice and simple, max this and use Doom's Cunning specialisation.

1 Points Wonders:

Latverian Blockade: Used purely for the 3% chance to negate incoming damage.

Latverian Inferno: Used purely for the 5% ranged damage boost (affects all our skills!).

Declaration of War: Used purely for the 1% boost to power/magic regen.

1.3 KEYBIND SETUP & MULTI-SPEC:

If you don't mind hotbar swapping, feel free to put our 5 spare skill points in to Latverian Air Defence and Latverian War Drums for some extra damage layers.

Multi-Spec:

If you want you can sub Orb of Doom for Pierce the veil depending on the content. (Orb excels when there is lots of mobs, Veil is great if you're fighting single target fast moving enemies).

1.4 SKILL ROTATION:

Trash:

ORB>ELDRITCH>UNTHINKABLE>ORB and use sig or Torment when required if you have a screen full of elites.

Bosses:

ORB>ELDRITCH>UNTHINKABLE>DOOM BLAST>CRETIN>SIG>TORMENT>ORB. Cosmic bosses will normally go down before you even have a chance to use Torment. If not it'll be buffed with procs from Doop Ectoplasm and Power Doop.

1.5 LEVELLING STRATEGY:

Put points in to Unthinkable, Eldritch and our 3 sigs as soon as you can and you will chew your way through any and all content. For your main attack I would stick with a basic so you don't have to juggle spirit.

Once you hit level 42 activate Dooms Cunning put as many points as you can in to our Sorcery skills and then enjoy melting everything around you.

Once you hit 50 and can equip Power Doop, start rotating in Cretin and Doom Blast every 8 seconds for huge damage boosts.
