*EDIT: Changed the subject heading to more accurately capture what I'm actually saying. Was originally "Less QoL's"
My basic point:
Why does it matter if all heroes are "balanced"? Why are folks so concerned about that point?
I own every hero, have them all reasonably well geared and have played them quite a bit. Some are more fun than others. Some obviously have older kits that could use an update with newer and better mechanics. But I still have fun with those heroes. I can still do all of the game content with those heroes, albeit with a bit more struggle on the hardest stuff.
The single BEST thing about this game is the incredible diversity of characters. It's what's kept me playing and got me spending money. The fact that we have almost 60 characters who all have unique skillsets is amazing. And all things being equal, the roster balance we have now is, in my opinion, already very good given how much there is going on in the game.
The idea that, in addition to having all of those unique characters, everyone is going to be almost exactly the same power level seems like an unnecessary and possibly counter-productive demand - especially given how little it matters for most of the game content.
Instead of "balance", I'd like to see the focus on making sure every character feels true to themselves and that every character is fun to play (while still meeting a minimum threshold of being powerful enough to be able to complete all of the games content eventually - like they are right now).
Sometimes, updating their kit could mean making them more powerful, other times, it could just mean changing mechanics to make them more interesting or accurate to character without improving their TTK or CDR times. I think that's fine.
I'm sure to some people this sounds obvious and is exactly what you mean when you ask for more QoL's but many folks seem very worried about balance and I'd like to understand why that's an issue for you in this game. Personally, I'd rather see Gaz's resources focused on fun mechanics first and less on worrying that everyone is exactly equal.
This is all, of course, assuming you're not playing PvP. But that's a whole other can of worms.
