Power progression versus Dynamic Combat Level system

Hello,

With the release of such an important and finally gameplay-wise meaningful system, I too joined TC yesterday to see what Dynamic Combat Level (DCL) is all about.

So, right of the bat I'll just say that right now there's no metric of how to relate to mobs/bosses.
While normal mobs like white-named seem to still be killable in 1 shot, blue and yellow elites this time really put up a fight.
Which is GREAT!

It's pleasantly surprising to see them offering a somewhat challenging encounter.

I've religiously jumped on a level 1 character and i went through the story mode. I'm in the 1st Chapter in Crumbling Brownstones, my Magneto is lvl 12 by now and still not one shotting elites. All the level 5 elites are still putting up a fight regardless of the level disparity it seems. Guess they are scaling based on the player's stats! Cool! But to what extent?

So, would a level 60 in Chapter 1 - Crumbling Brownstones wreck all mobs and 1 shot every elite, Fosio ?

Well, imaginary Fred, sit down and listen. I switched to my decently geared Loki and attacked the level 5 elites.
2 Shots it took to fell them. Hmmm...kind of disappointed. I guess someone with proper gear would 1 shot them still.

Fosio, tell us please, did you fight Electro in Crumbling Brownstones as well? How did it go?

Yeah, Fred, about that. This was somewhat better. The scaling on bosses seems to be better, actually I had to attack the level 5 Electro with my cosmic, level 60 Loki for a good amount of seconds. I did even see my regular damage numbers on him. He was obviously weak but I didn't feel like i robbed the boss kill from the lower levels in the map. They had a fair amount of seconds to join in.

Gonna continue through the story and do some terminals and drop my experience in here. I will leave a final consideration on how the scaling and power-progression goes.
